As reported by the Federal Reserve, consumers in America have $13.5 trillion dollars in debt outstanding and counting.

The clock below shows the amount of debt that consumers are accepting to maintain their lifestyle. BeatingDebt.org plans on updating this clock as information becomes available.

As recently reported for the first quarter 2010, consumer debt went down due to the current financial situation. So, the clock is now going backwards!
